Wizard: Class

Wizard walkthrough · Core Studio 3.0 · Verified 2026-09-01

When to use it: you need a new class — plain, runnable (static void main), abstract/final, or attribute-decorated — with optional starter methods.

Size: S · Automatable: fully. (New classes only — extensions are a different flow; see the extension how-tos.)

Prerequisites

None beyond a custom model.

Steps

  1. Basics — name (validated, collision-checked), model/module.
  2. Flavor — plain / runnable static void main / abstract / final, plus the attribute editor (e.g. SysOperationContractProcessingAttribute).
  3. Methods — optional starter methods as signature lines.
  4. Summary — preview, commit.

Output anatomy

  • AxClass/<YourClass>.xml under <root>/<Model>/<Module>/AxClass/ — declaration and all method sources are tree-sitter-validated (zero error nodes) before the file is written.

Verify it worked

  • The file parses clean; on-VM compile 0/0.
  • A runnable flavor runs: main executes your starter body.

If it goes wrong

  • You meant an extension, not a new class — use the AOT explorer’s right-click New X++ Object flow (CoC wrapper / _Extension naming law) instead; this wizard deliberately doesn’t create extensions.

Next: Dialog wizard for a controller class with a dialog in front, extension how-tos for customization without overlayering.
